An architectural design contest was earlier launched for the 13,700 square meters plot at the entrance to Frankfurt’s Europaviertel, the former Telenorma site. The condominium tower used to have the working title Tower 90, and is today named EDEN. The EDEN tower was designed by the architectural office Jahn (Chicago) and Magnus Kaminiarz & Cie. (Frankfurt) who won the first place in the architectural contest for the condo tower shown here.
In the winning design, the building conveys a superior theme through its hanging gardens – a theme which can be simultaneously reflected by the surrounding houses. In addition, the architecture not only contributes to the city’s ecological balance, but also serves to improve the microclimate of the apartments. Viewers are also given new and varied perspectives through the vertically arranged planting and open block bordering.
EDEN Frankfurt will have 27 floors, which offer space for practical 1-bedroom apartments as well as spacious 5-room apartments.
Status August 2019: Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (pbb) is providing EUR 110 million in financing for the construction of the EDEN residential tower to the Belgian project developer Immobel.
Status March 2018: In the meantime, the plans have been further developed. The residential tower has a height of 98 meters (322 feet) and bears the offical name “EDEN Frankfurt”. Sales has begun: Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is already looking for buyers internationally for EDEN (for example in Hong Kong).
