Already in summer 2017 there was the permission for the construction of a project by investor Michael Dietrich, which is a two-component complex of apartments and businesses along Berliner Strasse in Offenbach. There is no longer a complete demolition planned: the existing parking garage is integrated into the building. The eastern part of the car park remains and is being renovated. The tower is said to have 19 floors and was presented in December 2019. The corner of Schlossstrasse and Berliner Strasse can be seen in the foreground of the visualization. The development extends to Schlossstrasse, the Feldherrnhügel will be removed.
The architectural design was created by Tchoban Voss Architekten.
Planning and Construction
Status June 2021: The demolition work on the existing building is well advanced.
Status December 2019: The original design for the Toys’r’us building in Offenbach was discarded. These plans were presented by Christoph Mäckler Architekten and included a 14-storey high-rise tower on Berliner Strasse.
